We finally were able to bless our babe. We planned to bless him a little later because of winter and my general paranoia of people and the possible germs they might carry. Then we ended up moving and we were in a new ward. Then a few more excuses later, we were finally able to give this sweet boy a name and a blessing. Seeing as he is the equivalent to a 20 pound sack of potatoes that poops and cries and has developed an intense fear of strangers, I was a little worried about the way traditional blessing generally go. Our family is not all that typical so we rolled with it. Steve sat on a stool and held said "sack of potatoes" We got a few forbidden objects like my cell phone, and the remote to try to keep him happy for the duration of the blessing. We just had it at our home which I much prefer than at the church. Just my parents and Steve's parents were there and although I missed our family members, It was so much more relaxed than my older two kids. It was less about cleaning the house and feeding the multitudes and more about Miles. Steve gave him a beautiful blessing. He had a bit of my hopes for his future and some of his, as well as some things from our Heavenly Father because I felt the spirit there even though halfway through Miles looked at the bishopric and didn't like that there were so many people he didn't recognize and he started to wail. Dad persevered through the cries. I was really happy and proud and feel incredibly blessed.
