So I started I blog with work in mind. Seeing as I am self-employed, I can do whatever I want. It is in the very (very) early stages, but you can expect oh so much more! I guess we shall see what having one more child does to my free-time in the coming months, but for now my intentions are good. You may visit if you please at www.scissorhappy.blogspot.com

Back to work

This is my last of 5 Saturdays I have been able to take off. Being the hairstylist that I am, Saturdays off are a big fat rarity and I have totally cherished them. I actually don't mind working them for the most part. Yes, I can rarley go to such things as showers and mid-day BBQ's But Saturdays at the salon are pretty high energy, and super busy, so the go pretty fast.

I am really not sure if I am ready to go back. Sophie is in good hands (namely, Daddy and Grandma) am I ready to spend every spare second I have with that stupid pump attached to me .... blech.... I really hate pumping. On the upside of lactation, I love the girls at work and I really love my clients. I'm excited to show off pics of my sweet little girlie and to go out to lunch occasionally. I'm sure I will change out of my pajamas more often and maybe I will remember if I brushed my teeth that morning or not. But... in other news, I have no clothes! Really literally I have maybe 4 shirts and 2 pair of jeans to choose from. none of which look any good on the postpartum body o' mine. In early winter I packed away all of my non-pregnant, non-cold weather clothing.... and can I find that blasted box.... not a chance. I have looked everywhere. It has really vanished. My sisters and I joked that there was a clothes monster in the house and apperantly there is new evidence to back that theory up. I have no capris...skirts...swimsuit. So perhaps it's DI here I come. Hey I used to buy all my clothes there as a teenager, Maybe I can fit into little boy t-shirts still.... feel free to feel sorry for me.

King of the wild frontier

Sam discovered an old halloween costume at my mom's house. He is really into dressing up and pretending lately and I think Davy is rivalling iron man. Dad took him to the library to check out some Davy Crockett books. I think the with the coonskin cap and rifle, he is emulating his uncle Greg, whom Steve has lovingly nicknamed Jim Bridger for his mountainman ways.

This week in pictures

Sam's first sleepover with cousins Kristian and Chase. He has already informed me that he wants Traedon to sleepover next week. Sam felt that each boy needed his own bear to sleep with ( we bought spares which he has rejected)
She often has the look of being startled

This is the best scene in Utah county, I love it.

fathers day

Fathers day with 2 kids is pretty momentous. We did'nt do a whole lot of celebrating (my family thing was postponed) but we just spent the day together. Steve got a book and a stapler for fathers day.... wow they sound like horrible gifts when you say them out loud and together. The book was a Pete Sampras biography and the Stapler was a really souped up one and really could be classified as a power tool. :) We had a nice relaxing day that was topped off by some yummy tapioca pudding. Sam by uncle Bretts new scooter

Sophie at 3 weeks

Sam has dubbed her "Sweet yiddle pwincess sophie" or he calls her "cutsie's"

A little update

Both Sam and Sophie went to the doctor. I thought I would post their stats.

Sam:
Weight, 35 pounds and is in the 75th percentile
Height: 40 1/4" and in the 91st percentile
head size: 21 1/4" and currently not on any chart for 3 year olds.
Sophie:
Weight: 7 pounds 2 oz and in the 10th percentile
Height: 19 3/4" and int he 25th percentile
Head: 35' and in the 25th percentile
Both kids are doing great. Even though Sophie is pretty little still she is gaining weight. At Sam's 2 week check-up he had gained 2 pounds! Come on Soph, let's keep up with your brother, where is your sense of friendly competition! :) 2 healthy kids... I would say I couldn't ask for more than that.
I am trying to teach Sam how to properly enunciate some of his words. Like instead of saying "come iss me" I'm trying to get him to at least say "wiff" the th sound is a tricky one. He has become really aware of other sounds, and is starting to correct them on him own. The result has been pretty comical. He has replaced all his "d" sounds with a very hard "t" sound. Instead of saying "wahder" like everyone else in the world he has this really exaggerated "t" in there. He has also started saying "rehtty" instead of ready. Funny kid.
Sophie has become little queen of blowing spit bubbles. She is also the NOISIEST sleeper alive. What do I do? if I put her in another room I will need a moniter which defeats the purpose but she just seems too little to put anywhere but right by my bed. She will sleep soundly for about an hour then for an hour before she wants to wake up to eat she just snorts and grunts and hums her little heart out. Cute yes.... but can a mama get some sleep?

brother sister

Say hello to "Iron Sam" He is in and out of cognito all day. He asks me "Mom do you want me to put my iron man stuff on?"
"Yes Sam, I am dying for you to put your Iron man stuff on."
His dad has also told him that he is a super hero.... Which to be honest has helped with his nervous boy tendancies. He thinks the reason he is so brave and can kill spiders is because he's a super hero. He also said to me the other day, "Mom, When I get hurt, I won't cwhy anymohw, I wihw dust say, 'Fetch, dat hurt!" Am I a bad Mom for being okay with my 3 year old saying Fetch?
Sophie at one week old. Sam has been such a good big brother to her. Aunt Brookie took him to the gift shop at the hospital where he picked out a little pink bear for her. Anyone that knows Sam also knows his bear. They have been inseperable since he was about 10 months old. Anyway... He thinks everytime she cries, She wants her bear. He runs to get it for her and yesterday she actually stopped crying when he gave her the bear. He was sooo proud of himself and said. "I pwotect my sister cuz I'm a super hewoh."

Her closet his full of sweet little summer outfits.... are we gonna get a summer day anytime soon?

Hello Beautiful.
