A mothers wish realized

A father dreams of some day playing catch with his son... I had dreams of having a daughter.....who would let me do her hair! I have had so much fun! It's ridiculously long for a not even two year old. It's recently gotten long enough for BRAIDS! I yuv braids. She is actually pretty good to allow me to yank and pull and style her hair when I want. As long as there is a good cartoon on and she gets to suck on the end of the spray bottle.
And... what kind of a blogging mom would I be if I didn't add a little update on the amazing-genius-like abilities of my kid? Sophie's stuborness has reached new heights and she has recently insisted on dressing herself. Her coordination has not quite caught up to her desire for independance. It drives me NUTS. She can do pants ok, even if they are often on inside out and backward. Though she is stubborn and down right bratty at times, she does say "tain-too" at the appropriate mments, so even though she may scream "NO!!" and fall to peices if she can't have infinite amounts of fruit snacks, at least she has manners right?
This girl can spot pink from a mile away and prefers anything in that shade if she can have it. Did I do that to her? she does have a lot of pink clothes and her room is painted pink, so maybe I am responsible for pink-washing her little girlie brain. She has an obsession with Grandma or "mee-maw" (she came up with that one on her own) and is turning into a daddy's girl. Cute? Yes.....Sad? Definitely. She does like her mama too I guess. One very excellent thing about it is when I say, "do you want mommy to change your diaper... or Daddy?" She, with extreme cuteness exclaims, "DADDY!" Who can resist that? I don't use that trick all time though, I save it for very special, stinky occasions. I really can't believe she is going to be 2 in May.

Sophies room

I needed an excuse to download some pictures because I learned how to tweak my page just a bit thanks to my very non-nerdy, computer wiz friend Ashleigh. Here is Sophies room. I never got around to posting about it. The big brag here is not how fabulously it is designed but how CHEAP I was able to do it.

Blessing dress from my mama

I did spend a little money on fabric and ribbon, for the curtains. The style made it so I didn't have to buy a curtain rod though.

I found the big white frame at the DI for a 5-er. I think it used to frame a mirror. It was pretty beat up but nothing a coat of white spray paint didn't remedy. The other frames were also DI $1 finds that got the same finish.

It was so fun to so something so pink and girly. I dont know if I could spend money if I had it (as I was typing that I realized it's a total lie, I could so spend money) still though, I get a rush in doing things on the cheap.

a little bit late

We did have a party for Sophie Jordyn and although I am very very late in posting about it, I will do my best to rock your world and make it worth the wait. The guest list included 3 Grandma's, 2 Grandpa's, one brother 2 aunts, one uncle, parents, and 5 cousins. All there to wish her a happy birthday.... lucky girl! She recieved a Baby Doll from Grandma Barbie, a little pink pony from us, a cutie swimsuit and cover-up from Aunt Schmoo, and some pretty curtains from Grandma Buddy.

She was unbelievably cute when she opened her baby. She grabbed it and immediatley started snuggling it and patting it's back. Great-Grandma Taylor said it was worth the effort of a somewhat a tiring outing for a 93 year old to see Sophie love on that dolly like that.

Notice her little feet perched up, she hates the feel of grass

Big mama (not my official nickname)

Baby girl is 1

I hate when things don't turn out as expected... I often build something up in my head of how I want it to be and alot of times, I end up dissapointed.
This was most definetly not one of those times. I think I imagined having a little girl a gazillion times in my head, since I was old enough to have pretty little baby dolls. My little girl was going to be cheribic and toe headed... docile and squishy. Instead I got a little pokey haired brunette that arrived sticking her tounge out at me. She was tiny, but doe eyed and I couldn't have been more surprised.
Now, she is my little one year old sassypants. She is learning to throw a pretty fantastic fit and knows what she wants. She is giggly and smiley and silly alot of the time. She loves when music is playing, she has some sweet moves that are all her own. She brings so much spice to our sometimes vanilla house and I will be honest when I say, I am a little nervous how her sassines translates for the future.... Please bless her stubborness turns to a mature strenghth and not rebeliousness :)

We had a little party for the girl and I was testing out my little sisters camera and her memory card won't work in my computer for uploading and she left her cord in Mississippi. Her birthday party post will have to wait. She was pretty darn cute though, and like my baby dolls, I get to play dress-up with her.

forgotten fotos

We have been passed by in the blogging world... moments captured at random without out a story or purpose or anything quippy to go along with. We have been deemed un post- worthy and have been doomed to a life of hard drive limbo. In the old days of scrapbooking we may have been given our own page and title of "Random Pictures" or "Misc. and Misc. contd." By Grandma Gray. Today we have been given new life... a voice and will forever go down with the others in Blogger history. We will proudly wear the name... 'Forgotten Fotos'

Sophie's new Quilt From Grandma... I LOVE the colors.
(Sophie is not smoking a cigar, it's a foam dart she loves to chew on)

After being squirted in the face repeatedly by Brother and Her grin could not be bigger, nor could her squeal of delight.

Harry Potter costume made by Auntie Marcelle. I think he kind of looks like Ralphie from "A Christmas Story" in those glasses

Yankees Cap, Plain white tee, bare feet, Bear... how could I not take a picture

Sophies 'fro after a bath.
instead of going private I thought about always having my kids wear masks in pictures to hide their identities... That Michael Jackson has some fantastic ideas.

His new phrase is "I need Back-up!"

she is just so easy to toss

She learned how to climb up stairs. and we decided to have her hair match the awesome shag carpet.

Too sweet not to post.
