Brag Worthy

Steve's newspaper he works for entered a yearly competition for the state. He got hired in November and didn't have much time before the end of the year to crank out editorials for his sports column but in the end, he came out with a second place finish in the "Best Sports Column" catagory.
GO STEVE-O BURRITO! I am pretty proud of him, and felt the need to embarass him  publically. I'm sure it is nice to get some validation for your writing skills that does'nt come from your biased wife.

Trip to Georgia

I was able to spend about a week in the ATL, For numerous reasons. I,  unfortulatley am not independently wealthy enough to fly across the country on a whim, But I have a month old neice who is also my namesake there so Laurie helped make it happen. She got me a buddy pass through her friend. (I'm the sister that does her hair so I get the buddy pass!) I have a few faithful people whose hair I always do when I visit, and I met with a bride about possibly doing hair for her bridal party... I love write-off's.
Remi Lynne.... the Star of the show.

I think I caught Laurie mid-sentence, What a pretty mama.

Sophie didn't quite know what to think of Remi, She tried to climb on her a few times.

The only Picture I got of Reese.  This was her usual spot... in the corner... for taking all her clothes off and pooping... for yanking Leahs hair, I was completley enjoying the show. It's so much cuter when it's not your kid being naughty.  This girl has personality for days.

Pottery barn
We were treated to a fantastic dinner at Bonefish
Mackenzies Hubby is a partner and was able to
pick up the tap and just bill it back to the resturant

Leah loved playing with Soph, She was so concerned that Sophie had her kitty, at all times.

Sophie in her Easter dress

My Photographer Brother-in-law made a little model out of the Sophster. I don't know exactly what product she's modeling, or selling ... but whatever it is I'm buying.

Sam's latest

Sammo, wants to be just like his dad and has found a love of basketball, Steve as you can imagine is elated. Now if he can just get him to be a liberal politician I think Steve will feel complete.

Sam also has a deep desire to kick butt. Anything and everything is a weapon and where there is good, there must be evil, and Sam will be there to take it down. You or I might  see a simple folding chair as a place to sit, but for Sam, it's a transformer. Grandma has an old wood burning stove that Sam put a steering wheel on and pretends it's his train and goes places like India. I'm excited to see what he comes up with next.

Sophie Girl

9 Months Old
Along with the enormous grins this girl gives around every corner she often has some freak-out moments. I tried to get a cute shot of her outside to capture her 9 month-ness and all I got were protests.
She wants to be held most alot of the time but she is also such a busy girl. She is all over the place. She pulls herself up to just about anything and is crawling like a pro, but gets herself into some predicaments, like when I am in the kitchen and she wants to get to me, rather than going around the kitchen table, she tries to make her way under it and hurdles the chair legs and often gets tangled up and needs rescuing. When I am bathing her she is constantly trying to stand up and gets so mad when I don't let her. (such a mean mom)
She is babbling Mama and Dada. and can mimic a few sounds. If you make a raspberry, she does and she can crunch her face up and breath in and out of her nose like a bunny. I'm excited for her to get bigger and start talking but I'm enjoyng this little baby so much.

Her Stats
height: 27"   25%    Weight: 16-4    10%    Head: 44 1/2 '   50%

What we have been up to

I have wanted to Blog lately but there has been a bit of a drought of interesting happenings in my little world. There has been a lot of work, and a lot of play. We recently splurged on a month pass to the local rec- center. It's about the same price for the whole family as my Golds pass was just for me and it has everything Golds has, except too tan hard bodies in sports bras and belly rings.

Steve has gotten his crazy itch back to play basketball he has been going multiple times a day and has really gotten his shot back, this is exciting news but has been tainted slightly with the realization that he can no longer jump :( You know what they say about white men.

We have been again struck by the sick fairy. It seems that Sam and Sophie pass  bugs back and forth. Today they both slept the day away which was a nice break for a sleep deprived mama. I,  as with most everyone else I know, would just like this fickle weather to  stay warm already! We did take advantage of the bit of sunshine and played outside for a while. Gotta love that lush, brown, soggy grass with little piles of deer poop speckling the yard.

And MY excitement for the moment is that American Idol is starting the "real" competition.  For those of you who don't share my enthusiasm.... well don't pretend like your too cool for AI. You know you like it on some level, your relieved that freaky, Tatiana Del Whatever's Crazy upon nutty pleas did not sway anyone in her favor. Then there is the "Utah" girl She holds some interest because she's from Sandy and rather than having her arms covered in a Shade shirt, she's covered in tattoos. I really like this girl, though. She is so stinkin' gorgeous and definitely different.  Though, her bizarre hip twisting and Chimp like, arm waving does make me a bit nervous. I don't know that I have a favorite yet... but the DVR is set for Tuesday night.
From this picture, you would never know that this girl was burning a fever and had a never ending snot nose.
getting out the cabin fever by running around the back yard.
couldn't resist this last one.
