Sophies room

I needed an excuse to download some pictures because I learned how to tweak my page just a bit thanks to my very non-nerdy, computer wiz friend Ashleigh. Here is Sophies room. I never got around to posting about it. The big brag here is not how fabulously it is designed but how CHEAP I was able to do it.

Blessing dress from my mama

I did spend a little money on fabric and ribbon, for the curtains. The style made it so I didn't have to buy a curtain rod though.

I found the big white frame at the DI for a 5-er. I think it used to frame a mirror. It was pretty beat up but nothing a coat of white spray paint didn't remedy. The other frames were also DI $1 finds that got the same finish.

It was so fun to so something so pink and girly. I dont know if I could spend money if I had it (as I was typing that I realized it's a total lie, I could so spend money) still though, I get a rush in doing things on the cheap.

good news for tiny bums!

We were strolling home depot today, in search of curtain rods, when Steve said, "Hey let's go check out the toilet seats." I laughed out loud, like you do when someone you love says something humorous... then swallowed my giggle when I realized he was in fact actually interested in toilet seats. I think he was in the market for a nice and squishy one to make his morning throne sit more pleasant. (I think they only have those at retirement communities) Anyway, we stubbled across this gem.... Where have you been for the last year and a half! Sam has been potty trained that long yet still uses a pop on kids seat when he needs to go #2, I have threatened to take it away numerous times. He is so afraid of falling in, and I don't want to be stuck with holding him on while he does his business. This thing is awesome!

It appears to be just the right size for you or I, but....wait....

...what's this so conveniently magnetized to the lid?....

...another toilet seat!... that I'm sure even Goldie Locks would think was just right.

A little lame that I'm THIS excited about a toilet seat but... I am! If you have family members that don't enjoy balancing their little bums above the watery depths, go pick yourself up one at the Home depot for Roughly 30 bucks

We Moved!

We are in a house.... well renting, but what the heck do I care. The house belonged to Steve's grandparents and has had it's share of family renters. It is kind of a dinosaur meaning old, but big!
Our backyard. Lot's of grass, trees, and a place for Basketball, ang bike riding

My sister in law left this with me over the summer while she is in Alaska. I'm not complaining, I kind of like sweating it out while watching American Idol

My Genius Idea, I had all thes mis-matched frames and frameless pictures... solution... DI. I bought a bunch of frames for a buck and spray painted them black. I liked the result.

No more soapy hands... yeah for dishwashers!

and 2 of these! Hooray for another place to poop.
I have never had a designated pantry before

The house is on a cul-de-sac, Sam has had fun riding his big wheel

I have also had the great honor of displaying THIS on my wall all summer. I mean, who doesn't love taxidermy... blehk! (Steve's Brother and wife were the previous renters and the Elk is his. They come home from Alaska at the end of the summer and he couldn't fit it in his storage unit. The thing is seriously as big as a 7th grader.)
