Taylor Family Weekend

We had a get-together on Steve's side of the family this weekend. It has been a while since all four brothers were there. With Eric back and forth from east to west coast, working on some new degree and Greg back and forth from Alaska because of his charter fishing buissness and Jeff Living permanently in sunny Florida,  This was quite an event. I feel like I mostly blog about my family get-togethers so it’s fun to put up some pictures of the other side of the family.

Jeff, Patricia, and Emma arrived on Valentines day and flew home on Tuesday. We had a whole lot of good food and the Cousins had so much fun together. Steve and his family all have the trait of being carmera shy. I kept trying to get Steve to let me take a picture of him and Jeff... as you can see, I was turned down. They are 13 months apart and have always been best friends. They most definetly have their differences but it sometimes weirds me out at how similar they are. Their family has such a different dynamic than mine. With 4 brothers within 5 years, they have a very healthy sense of competition. within the first hour of all being together, They had an intense ping-pong tournament going and had busted out the scale to see who had gotten the fattest. There was even a plan to go to the highschool track and have a 200 meter race. At least this visit didn't end up like the last one, with a bum shaped hole in the kitchen drywall from wrestling.

The sisters-in-law and Barbie, my MIL always have fun chatting and we all had fun getting to know Jeff's wife Patricia better.  Eric brought his camera down and we were able to get some family pictures. We tried to brave the cold weather but it was pretty awful and windy, so we just ended up in the Relief society room, Hey it worked. I'm excited to get those pictures.

I felt like I didn't have to entertain Sam for 3 days straight, he had so much fun with his cousins. Matthew is 7,  Michael is 10 and Malia is 4.  and Emma is almost 4.  The top picture is Sam and Matty on a changing table that Andrea donated to me (wahoo!) They were playing ambulence.
Sammy, and his long curly hair.
Patricia's new look. There is no "before" but she let me chop off 9 inches. Brave girl!

Great-Grandma "Grams" she turned 93 in December

Greg took qutie a beating, all 6 kids wanted in on the rumble. Even Sophie kept crawling over to join the fun. Grandma Barbie gave all the kids Slinkys for Valentines day which were a big hit except that the kept getting tangled . Greg became the Slinky Dr. He really could make even the biggest tangles come out. I didn't know that could be done.  I think everyone walked away a little tired but enriched, there really is nothing like family.

True Love?

Love has been in the air around our house. I can't help but smother Sophies little pink cheeks with kisses. Sam has been full of "I yuv you too"'s And to that hubby 'o mine, I think I'm keeping him happy. Sam had a Pre-school party that we prepared for by making a pretty cool Valentines box, and getting his friends little cards. He wanted to give Alexis, "his girlfriend" an empty heart shaped chocolates box, so that she could "remember I yuv her" so we decided to get her one with actual chocolates in it. That night when I was putting Sammy to bed, I asked him what Alexis looked like. He said "um, she kind of yooks yike my bear, ownee she doesn't have a tail".
A comparison to Sammy's beloved bear has got to be love.

Should we get this boy a pet?

Sam wanted to take advantage of this crawling creature in our house and decided to turn his baby sister into a puppy dog, using Dads tie as a leash. It makes me so happy to see them play despite their age difference. He also likes me to put her in her crib so she can be in "jail".
Snuggle muffins
Maybe we ought to also get him an actual apron. He ask me every day for a chef costume. When I was washing Sophies sheets he found one of her bumper pads on the floor and thought it would make an excellent apron... pink and everything.
She is all of sudden an older sort of baby. She not only giggles and smiles but she is also starting to get silly. (especially on the verge of exhastion.) She's an emotional little thing, and gives the best reaction when I come home from work. It's equal cry and laugh mixed with "I gotta get to that lady as fast as possible!"
