just an update

My kids are kinda sweet.

So I am still getting used to saying "kids" How many times can I blog about that you ask?.... till the shock wears off. Sophie is officially 2 months old and will have her check-up on Friday. She is cooing and smiling like a pro and Sam enjoys making up songs about how his "yidd-oh sisteh gave me a smi-yow" Sam has been doing that pretty frequently lately. I suppose it's one more thing he can copy from Dad. (He gets pretty creative at bedtime, Steve's songs usually are to the tune of Jingle Bells and include some form of potty humor) I did get a pretty great video of Sam singing his Iron Man song but for some reason, have'nt been able to upload it. I thought I would Include his original lyrics for fun.

IRON MAN

(to the tune of nothing in particular)

Iron Man is so rad and cool

He even flies faster than a jet

And can even fight bad guys

And he is the coolest super hero ever

And Iron Man is daddy's favorite super hero

and my favorite too!

and I have an iron man SUIT!!! THE END!!

The kid has talent, what can I say.

Steve is all registered for a full load of school this fall and is really excited about it. I think the fact that he is going to a university now is going to his head :) I think he is excited to not be MR MOM anymore.

As for me, Things are going well and I am slowly starting to feel like myself. I am trying to get a bit of weight off and I have been doing pretty well. I am really looking forward to Saturday.....August 2nd...... midnight for the die hards.... yes I am speaking of "Breaking Dawn".

I considered going to the release party but seeing as the very next day is Saturday, and I start my work day at 6 am (wedding hair) It aint going to happen. But seeing as my birthday is the 3rd, Steve has a super easy time at picking out my gift this year. I am going to be 25 and no I dont' feel old. I have been waiting for this day to come, I strarted everything young and 25 and 2 kids just feels more right with the universe than 24.

American Idol Spaz

So last week I went to the AI concert. It was completley fantastic. I got to with my mom and mom-in-law. Getting up there was an adventure. We google mapped for directions, and maybe some disgruntled employee at google thought it would be funny to punch in some imaginary street names just for kicks. (ever heard of Sarah Jane Drive?) But as for the concert. Little david archletta was the highlight. People went nuts for him! You would have thought he was one of the beatles or..... Donny Osmond. Everyone sang 3 times. Mr Johns was great.... he stuck to his usual Queen act. I loved Brooke. She sang the ipod song ".....one, two, three, four, tell me that you love me more..." and played the guitar. She was her slightly awkward self. At one point during a song she encouraged the audience to "snap it out" which to me sounded like a demand from a work out video, but she sounded great. I didn't get a photo of Barbie, my MIL. she was up and down throughout the concert, which she braved despite having a bad back. All in all it was a fun girls night out. David Archuletta
WE had floor seats. No one sat much to my mom's dismay she is a bit new to the concert scene and couldn't figure out why people wouldn't just sit down and enjoy the concert.

Cutie kids

I am one lucky girl. I have had so much fun with thses two amazing kids. Sam was wonderful all on his own , but having a sibling has just been awesome for him. Yes it could be coincidence but he has just become so much braver and independent. He has developed characteristics that any mother would hope her son would grow up to have. Since Sophie joined our family, he feels this intense desire to protect her and his mom. Yes, the violent part of the brain has kicked in and he just loves to carrry around any play weapon he can think of, just in case there could be "bad guys" around. But it is all in the spirit of being the protecter. We started putting Sophie's carseat in the middle, right next to Sam and he just really couldn't be a better big brother to her. He loves to hold her hand as we drive, or he gives me a play-by-play of her facial expressions or doziness. What I great little helper I have. He is so proud of her too. newborns are such a novelty and everywhere we go people are always oohing and ahwing about her tininess and cuteness. Sam has never expressed any jealousy of the attention. I think he feels like she is an extension of him so he accepts the compliments proudly. The other day we were at a restaraunt and Sophie was sleeping in her carseat while we ate. Sam said to me, "Mama, take her out so ehvweeone can see how cute she is!" I hope Sophie will appreciate his protectiveness as she gets older and not resent it too much when she can't get a date. The combo of a big brother (who will without a doubt be "big") and an overprotective Dad, Sophie has no shot at a social life. :) saying good night to eachother
This could be the cutest expression any baby has ever made :)

Sam seems ridiculously huge to me. He happily takes the beatings of Sophies irradic arm movements.

The photos are a little blury, but I just love her smile.

Hello there....
I'm Sophie, or at theast I think so. My mom and dad call me all kinds of things. My name could be Littles, baby girl, Sophina Ballerina, or even Pooper.
I came here 6 weeks ago and am here to stay. It was getting so cramped in that place I used to live. I spend my days hanging out with my brother Sam... he's pretty great, he always pops my binky back in my mouth for me. I haven't quite figured out how to work these limbs of mine.
I just decided that the people around me are amusing enough to smile at, They get such a kick out that for some reason, I guess I will keep doing it. And you should check out my closet! People just can't seem to resist giving me clothes. My mom has fun picking out things for me to wear, but she doesn't always pick out the right thing so if I don't like it... I just poop on it, that seems to do the trick. Sometimes I can go through as many as 4 outfits a day! What can I say, I'm a girl.
As for my parents, I like to keep them guessing, Do I want to eat....?....Maybe I'm too hot?... or cold?...Do my noises in the middle of the night mean I'm awake, or just Dreaming?... Mostly, I just want somebody to hold me, but please, for crying out loud, (literally) don't sit down! And if you think I'm pretty great now, just you wait for the next couple of months! I might even decide to let my mom get some sleep.

The 4th of July

We spent the day at my aunt Carmens. There was a huge group of people. (My mom's giant famliy) Sam spent most of the day chillen in a little car and Sophie slept. I did mange to get a few pictures. I tried hard to math the kiddos. I thought they looked cute.
