2nd grader

Life continues to move at such a quick pace. Before I've had time to catch my breath I find that Summer is over and my little Sammo is going into second grade. He is getting over his jitters and nerovousness and is playing hard core with friends all day. I'm so happy for him that he seems to be gaining more confidence and is allowing his little comfortable world to be much bigger.

His teacher seems fantastic! She seems to be so involved and invested. One of her assignments was for each child to bring his/her favorite book to put on a bookshelf and let the other kids in the class read it. He chose to bring Matilda. When I was putting him to bed last night, I could sense there was something wrong. I knew he was fretting about something. When he does that, It's hard for him to talk about what he's thinking about without crying. He started to tell me as he was holding back the tears. He said, "Mrs Grandstaff said we had to bring our favorite book and my favorite book is Matilda, but then she told us we have to read it outloud in front of the whole class, and my book is 250 pages, that's going to take all day!"  His little logical, rule following brain cracks me up sometimes. I let him know it was totally ok to bring a second favorite book.

Today, Sam even rode his bike to school by himself for the first time.

Little Martha

My Soph really likes to make anything she can, pretty. She likes to make her bed and decorate thins with her stuffed animals. She loves to pick the roses from the backyard and put them in a vase and set the table for dinner around that. I have not been clothes shopping since I had the babe. It's no fun when you are the biggest you have ever been in your life. The other day, I went to  get some school shoes for Soph. The store was having a buy one get one sale. I decided to check out the women's shoes. Sophie was in HEAVEN. She was pulling every high heel or bedazzled shoe she could find saying, "Mom, You have GOT to try these one!" She really made me feel kind of bold and less frump. She is going to be one great little shopping buddy if I ever get around to doing that.

She decides what we were going to have for lunch today, I chopped and she arranged. It's almost too pretty to eat.

fatty

We all lovingly refer to this boy as fatty, or tubba. I wish these pictures would show his thunder thighs and his cankles. They are truly awesome. He is now 20 lbs and is moving right along. I spend most of my time lugging this boy around on my hip. Thank heaven for hips! no one can say that God didn't have a hand in creating those for women. They work like an extra appendage.

This babe is unbelievably sweet and incredibly silly. I have never seen a baby giggle and belly laugh like this one does. He laughs mostly at his sister. He also can't not put EVERYTHING in his mouth. I love, love, love, him
Miles is 8 months old today. He currently has no teeth. is not sleeping through the night... Loves his mama best... loves to play on his tummy... doesn't scoot yet but can get around by rolling... is not going to be put up with being weened anytime soon, this boy loves to nurse. Steve calls me the "lunch lady" He has been a really healthy little guy. He has had two mild colds and no ear infections or anything like that. I was so paranoid with him being a preemie but he is doing just fine now.
