Little bro got married.

Congratulations to Brett and Amber. They were married on Saturday. He is the last of my siblings to get married. They have been together for 3 years and I'm happy for them. We had fun at the reception and a lot of family flew in for the event. There were 10 out of 13 siblings there. I totally forgot my camera so I snagged some from my sister (thanks Jill) My mom made Amber's dress and the flower girl dresses. Amber has a knack for fashion and helped design it. I had a lot of fun doing her hair for the day.  The pic above My Brother in law took. I loved the Timpanogos Temple in the background, that's where they were sealed.

back to reality

Our life as we know it is back to normal. Steve is back in school, all festivities are over. I even have all the Christmas decorations put away. (this is not a strength of mine, so… GO ME!) My family has had our share of winter illnesses. Steve had a nasty bout of food poisoning that accompanied a trip to the ER. His Nephritis really makes itself know when he gets dehydrated. The kids have had the usual colds and runny noses, and as of right now, I have zero voice. I have had a sore throat and cold but I guess talking to clients over blowdryers yesterday did me in. Sam asked me, “Mom why is your voice dying?” and “Are you getting old?” So if you need to get ahold of me... email me... or you will only hear scrathy whispers and squeaking.

The girl has hit a few milestones lateley. She started crawling right after christmas. (I have a stubborn video that dos not want to be uploaded... will try again later.) and nowas two teeth on bottom and has 4 on top that have just broken through... Phew! That girl gave birth to those teeth, I swear. I felt so bad for her but I'll be honest, I felt kinda bad for me too! When I held her she only whimpered... constantly, but if I, at any moment for any reason, put her down she let the full force of her anguish out. Next up, Molars I guess.
She has been twirling her tounge around and sticking it out all the time lately.
Sam and his curly hair, right out of the bath. So cute right?
Beautiful baby girl. She loves being all acrobatic in the tub, she get's on all 4's to just see what she can do. At one point she was in the splits.
My builder bud. "mom, do you wanna hehwp me get da work done?"
Sam is making her laugh while I am feeding her sweet potatoes, a favorite. This little girl can put it away! She want to eat everything. If I have a plate of something she whines and whimpers until I share. She rarely refuses anything I give her. It's great she has teeth now but she will bite big chunks of things that she used to just suck on, like biter biscuits. (check out lose cute bottom teeth.)
This boy needs to be in Karate or something he loves to punch and kick. The problem is that he is getting strong. Grandpa must have bruises all over his tummy becuase Sam's daily 'hello' to him is a nice firm jab to the gut. Grandpa takes it like a champ though. Sam frequently asks me, "Do you want to have a hulk smash up?"

Little man turned 4!

Sam's brithday was today, and what a big boy he is! It's the start of a new year so naturally I have been thinking alot about the previous one.... Sam's third one, He seemed to grow and mature so much this year and I really can't get enough of this little guy. He continues to be sweet and just naturally good natured, he would rather die than be in trouble. He never does anything mean-spirited and is always looking out for his baby sister. I have had the feeling that if I do nothing right from here on out, he could raise himself. He does rely on me for hugs and snuggles and pancakes, but he is even starting to "read" himself books. It takes Sam a while to truly trust and warm up to people and once that happens and his comfort zone is thrown off he doesn't quite know what to do. (Miss Linda at preschool, do you really need potty breaks?) And speaking of pre-school, he thouroughly enjoys it when he is there, and will continue til kindergarten I assume. Here are a few of his Phases and milestones that he has gone through in the last year.
Milestones:
Can recongnizes all letters (upper and lowercase)
Can spell, Sam, Sammy, Samuel, and Sophie
Can find all letters on the keyboard
Can pronounce "r"
Finally went down the "big"slide at the playground
Mom and Dad were able to leave him with a few people other than Grandma Barbie
can finish a puzzle without help
goes pee all by himself
became a big brother

Grown out of:
3T and 4T shirts
size 11 shoes
Thomas the train (not entirely, though he hardly plays with him but insists he is "obsessed wiff trains")
Pull-ups

Wish he would grow out of:
Using his training seat to poop
Needing me to stay with him at church
Not dressing himself

I suspect his 4th year will be momentous and. I'm sure he will continue to make us laugh and make everyone fall in love with him. I have  told him he was a "lucky boy" since he was no years old, for having so many people that love him. I hope he continues to want to be with his family like he does now.

For his birthday party this year, he wanted a basketball theme, which completely thrilled his dad. The party was complete with a basketball pinata, cake, & oranges decorated like basketballs. We shot a few hoops, and did a freeze dance game to music you would hear at a stadium. We served hot dogs, gatorade, & popcorn; the best part was having a bunch of his cousins come. Happy Birthday Sammo!
